Eight year old girl impaled on metal fence in Bedfordshire

A young girl is in a serious but stable condition after becoming impaled on a metal fence in Bedfordshire.
The eight-year-old was playing at home in Stotfold shortly before noon when she slipped and fell on to the fence, suffering abdominal injuries.
Emergency medical charity Magpas said one of its doctors and a critical care paramedic were flown to the scene by a Cambridgeshire Police helicopter. The girl was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge
